Ingredients in Vegan Green Smoothies
It is important to get frozen pineapple. It keeps the smoothie cold and thickens it up too. But if you have a fresh pineapple you can also just freeze chunks before making the smoothie, or simply add 1 cup of ice and use fresh pineapple.
Shopping List for Vegan Green Smoothies:
- 2 cups baby spinach
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 cup refrigerated coconut milk (not the stuff in the can)
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks (frozen is important- makes the smoothie cold and thick)
How to Make a Vegan Smoothie Recipe
The key to making smoothies an everyday meal, is cleaning up after. I know this sounds weird, but if you let the ingredients sit in the blender, cleaning it will be a nightmare… and you won’t want to make one tomorrow!
So rinse out the blender as soon as you pour your smoothie. You don’t have to scrub it, just rinse it, I promise it makes all the difference!
How to Make Vegan Smoothies:
- Add vegan smoothie ingredients to blender starting with the greens and ending with the fruit.
- Blend until smooth, adding more liquid as needed until you reach your smoothie consistency.
- Pour into a glass and wash out the blender (the ingredients stick) and serve cold with your favorite toppings.
Toppings and Add-Ins for Vegan Green Smoothies
These add-ins and swaps are completely optional. But they may help you boost nutrition and make your smoothie better for your particular diet. None of these are reflected in the nutrition card below, but all work great with this recipe.
