Vegan Carrot Bacon

I love to make this Vegan Carrot Bacon and crumble it over my favorite soups. But I often find myself snacking on it while I work on the soup, and that’s why this is such a large recipe… because it’s irresistible!

You can have about 8-10 strips for just 171 calories, equal to 1 carrot! See what I mean, hard to resist!

You can use any color of carrot you prefer, and I find it fun to work with white and purple carrots. But the orange will look closest to real bacon. So choose your favorite or stick with orange.

You will need liquid smoke to make this recipe. And though you can find it in stores (usually where spices are sold) you can also find it easily online. I have supplied you with a link below just in case.

How to Make Carrot Bacon

All you need to make this carrot bacon recipe is a vegetable peeler or mandolin, baking sheets, and parchment paper.

But if you don’t have parchment paper you can skip it, and just oil the baking sheets. This will change the nutrition slightly and create more clean up. So if you have parchment paper, I recommend using it.

This vegan carrot bacon recipe is easy and delicious, and you can bake it or air fry it too!
I was able to cut some of the oil from the recipe, lowering the calories and fat. It also ensures that you get a crispy vegan bacon and not soggy and oily.
Special Tip: You can use any color carrot you prefer, though orange will best mimic the color of traditional bacon.
