- ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened vegan cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon vegan chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional Toppings and Add-Ins:
- Vegan Marshmallows
- Vegan Whipped Cream
- Peppermint stick or candy cane
- Shot of cinnamon whiskey (21 and older)
How to Make Vegan Hot Chocolate
It is important that you chop the chocolate chips, this will help them melt faster. So you get to drink your hot chocolate sooner.
How to Make Dairy Free Hot Chocolate:
- Add the almond milk and cinnamon sticks to a small sauce pot.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to the lowest setting and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the cinnamon sticks and add in the cocoa, chocolate chips, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk well until the chocolate melts and the milk gets a bit frothy.
- Pour into a mug and serve hot with your favorite toppings or add-ins.
