I like to make my own hummus, I find it’s less expensive and I can control the ingredients better.
But you can use your favorite store-bought hummus. In fact, I based the nutrition off store-bought assuming most people would rather purchase it.
Shopping List for Hummus Toasts:
- 1 slice of bread
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tablespoons Homemade Hummus (or store-bought)
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- Salt and Pepper
Optional Toppings:
- Sliced Avocado
- Sesame Seeds
- Sliced peppers (jalapeños, serranos, your favorite)
- Unsweetened Cashew Yogurt
- Frozen corn
- Sliced cherry tomatoes
- Chopped fresh cilantro
- Roasted chickpeas
- Hot Sauce
- Sprouts or micro greens
- Vegan cheese shreds
- Salsa
How to Make Vegan Snacks
These hummus toasts make a wonderful snack anytime of the day! If you don’t have a toaster, you can always toast your bread in the oven. Here are oven toast directions.
How to Make Hummus Toasts:
- Toast the bread to your desired doneness.
- Remove from the toaster and rub one side of the toast with the garlic clove.
- Smear over the hummus, and sprinkle with paprika, salt and pepper.
- Add any optional toppings you like.
- Serve and enjoy.
